R-R rolls out Farnborough orders

RRBoeing787160The aero engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce has announced a spate of orders at the industry’s bi-annual boastfest, the Farnborough Airshow.

In deals worth a cumulative $3bn (£1.9bn) Rolls unveiled a £160m order from Air Lease Corporation for Trent 1000 engines to power four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft; Air France-KLM Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Rolls-Royce for $1.1bn-worth of Trent XWB engines to power 25 Airbus A350s together with options covering 25 more A350 XWB aircraft and an $800m order came from SriLankan Airlines for Trent XWB engines to power four A350-900 aircraft and Trent 700 engines to power six A330-300 aircraft;

Oman Air ordered Trent 700 engines worth $200m to power three Airbus A330 aircraft; the Russian airline Transaero is to be provided with Trent 1000 engines for four Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and signed a $200m order for Rolls’ support package for Trent 800 engines that power eight Boeing 777s already in service; and United Airlines placed an order worth $880m for Trent XWB engines to power 10 Airbus A350 XWB-1000 aircraft.
