Muirhead will be working with BE Aerospace on the project which is due for completion at the end of 2013 and will see the leather update carried out across 130 aircraft including the Airbus A319, A320 and A321.
Originally specified in 1998, the leather seating has flown continuously on high density routes since that time.
Muirhead’s Archie Browning said: “The initial leather used has been in continuous service for over 10 years and we are certain the refurbishment will match that, or even last longer.”
Muirhead is part of the Scottish Leather Group, the UK’s biggest leather manufacturer, working in the automotive, marine, and contract furnishing sectors as well as the aviation industry. It supplies products to brands that include Emirates, Morgan Cars, Hilton Hotels, Virgin and Vertu.
